Meet the Team: Bettina Thomas

Tackling a new professional challenge can be daunting, whether you’re climbing the dizzy heights of your chosen career ladder or just starting out. Here at Clyde we take a particular interest in our younger recruits, for many of whom their new role at Clyde is their first professional position – and we never fail to be amazed at how quickly they adapt to the workplace, making themselves indispensable in record time. One such employee is Bettina Thomas, who joined us straight from school just over 8 months ago and has settled incredibly well into her role as Sales Assistant. We caught up with Bettina to find out more…

Hi Bettina! Tell us a little more about your journey with Clyde so far.
Hello! I’ve been with the company for around 8 months now and I’m really enjoying the challenge so far! I’ve always been interested in the business world so I set myself a goal to complete my education to a high standard so that I would have the qualifications required to fulfil my business aspirations. I’m learning so much at Clyde already.

What does your role involve?
I spend quite a lot of time on the phone talking to people. It might be contacting prospects or existing customers to find out if they have any paper and print needs we can help with, or liaising with customer services to make sure my clients are happy. I was really nervous speaking to customers at first so I’m really enjoying my newfound confidence and getting to know them better.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I’ll let you know when I find some spare time! Seriously though, I love getting away from it all on a long walk. I’m actually a Yorkshire lass by birth but I’ve spent more than half my life in Glasgow so maybe it’s my country roots calling to me! I also love food of most kinds, and Friday evenings.

Name one thing you couldn’t live without?
A cup of tea!
