Clyde Supports Macmillan Cancer

On Friday 30th September, Clyde staff consumed a lot of cake and caramel lattés as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning!

It was all for a good cause – to raise money for Macmillan Cancer.

All the staff brought in a selection of delicious cakes which they had baked or bought specially for the occasion, and for each slice consumed, £2 was donated to the worthy cause. We also held activities like the ‘Spot the Cake’ game where staff donated £2 and guessed how many spots were on the cake to enter a prize draw – the person with the closest guess won half the sweepstake money and the rest was donated to Macmillan! Well done Jake Harvey who guessed 500 spots – the correct answer was 495!

Our Coffee Morning raised a total of £432.00 for Macmillan. This contributes to Macmillan’s amazing total of £2,224,049.57 which is how much they’ve raised so far from their Coffee Morning event this year!

Macmillan Cancer is an amazing organisation. Their ambition is “to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer and to inspire millions of others to do the same.” The money we have donated will go towards providing medical, emotional and other support for people affected by cancer, so that no one faces it alone.

We are proud to support this excellent cause and as part of our 'giving' culture we aim to raise money for different charities every quarter. Keep in touch with us to find out who we will donate to next! (You can follow us on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+.)
